Yup. This is a fast cross country course consisting of a double loop on a well marked trail. There are a couple small hills in the woods, and lots of roots and such, but nothing really 'bad'. I really like this course, and apparantely alot of others did this year as well (results aren't posted, but I think 130-140 finishers). Despite the large number, once you're in the woods you get a sense of running solo, as the winding path really hides any runners not directly in front of you. I know one of the local running clubs has a ten week race series on the same course starting next Wednesday I believe for a 'donation' of 5 bucks total for all 10 runs. (.50 per race). Also, they are trying to arrange a 10K for the fall (4 loops), that I think they are going to try and include a 2 person relay option.
We're two transplants to Rhode Island who are sick of running the same three out-and-backs from our house or driving 40 minutes to our nearest favorite runs.
So, here we'll explore Rhode Island running routes, local races, and hopefully get enough people together to set up some group runs.
Stick with us while we explore the Ocean State by foot, and send us some of your favorite runs and races!
